Music Alive! accepts only full-page advertisements.Please contact publisher Angelo Biasi at 914.358.1200 or via email at musicalive@intunepartners.com about premium positioning, ad rates and schedules. Music Alive! also has limited space available in its Teacher's Guide and accepts black & white or four color advertising.
Ad Specifications
Magazine trim size is 8.25 x 10.875Full page ad with bleed is the above with .125 bleed all around which would make the size 8.5 x 11.125. Please keep any type or any image that you don't want cut off at least .25 away from the edge of the trim.
A half page horizontal ad would be 8.25 x 5.25. So an ad with bleed would be 8.5 x 5.5.
A half page vertical ad would be 4 x 10.875. With bleed would be 4.125 x 11.125.
The Publisher reserves the right to reject any advertisement it deems incompatible or inappropriate for any reason.

Click Thru URL and Alternative Text
A linking URL (click thru) must be submitted for each ad creative. Alternative text is optional (150 character limit).Banner File Format

Rich Media
The HTML for the ad cannot require a space larger than the maximum allowed ad size (see above for dedicated pixel size). <HTML>, <BODY>, <HEAD>, hard breaks <br>, <br /> (carriage returns) or alignment tags should NEVER be included. White spaces must be eliminated.Flash
- Advertiser must provide both Flash and JPG versions of creative that is subject to Music Alive! creative approval.
- Music Alive! will implement a plug-in sniffer script - users without the Flash plug-in will be served the advertiser provided .jpg alternate.
- Music Alive! accepts .swf files exported to support the flash 6 plug-ins.
- Maximum frame rate is 31 fps.
Click Thru with Flash
To track when a user clicks within a flash, a ClickTag variable MUST be embedded in the .fla file. Please follow this example and instructionAdd an invisible button making the entire area of the banners clickable. Attach the following object action to the button:

- This will embed the clickTag variable in the FLA file. This allows the click-through URL to be modified at any time during a campaign, as opposed to hard-coding the click command in the .swf file. Target="_blank" is required in the "Basic actions" to make sure the click thru opens a new window.
- Note: The implementation is different for each version of Flash, please refer to Macromedia documentation for specific instructions and syntax for using the clickTag variable and the getURL action.

Client should follow these instructions and coordinate with Music Alive! before sending the .swf file.
TRAFFIC INSTRUCTIONS
All rich media banner materials must be received at least ten business days prior to the start date for testing purposes.All other file formats are accepted on a case by case basis pending testing.
THIRD PARTY SERVING GUIDELINES
- Music Alive! accepts third-party served ads but requires a ten business day lead time for testing purposes.
- Advertisers must send all creative to Music Alive! at least two(2) business days prior to flight date. Music Alive! must approve all creative running with third party tags.
- Music Alive! requires that all third party served rich media campaigns must have alternate GIF versions of creative available.
- Music Alive! is NOT responsible for developing programming scripts to ensure compatibility with third party serving software. Any materials necessary to insure compatibility must be provided by advertisers or their third-party serving agent.
- Music Alive! reserves the right to terminate a campaign at any indication that it is not being properly served.
General Considerations
- Rich Media: .GIF alternate must be supplied to accommodate browsers with out the Plug-in.
- All banners with audio must be user initiated.
- Music Alive! must approve all ads.
- Music Alive! must approve all promotional copy within banners.
