Rosie’s Broadway Kids Launches Musical Theatre Summer Workshop Series

Rosie’s Broadway Kids, an educational organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children through the arts, is announcing a series of workshops open to students nationwide.

The workshops, open to ages eight to 15, are designed for all skill levels to cultivate their talents in the areas of voice, dance and drama. The first of these week-long workshops launches in June and the second takes place in early August.

The summer workshops take place at the new home of Rosie’s Broadway Kids, the state-of-the-art Maravel Arts Center in the heart of the storied Theatre District. The studio boasts 2,600 square feet of studio space, a study café, practice rooms, a library, dressing rooms and a beautiful roof garden designed by Rachael Ray. Students will have the opportunity to train with RBKids’ acclaimed staff.

Triple Threat Week, June 21 to June 25, is an intensive week-long program designed for intermediate students who want to refine their skills in voice, dance and drama. The week features visits from the Broadway and television communities as well as a workshop with a talent agent. Previous performers who have tutored at Rosie’s Broadway Kids have included American Idol stars Clay Aiken and Melinda Doolittle, Broadway stars Brian Stokes Mitchell of Ragtime and Jonathan Groff, star of Spring Awakening.

Contemporary Broadway runs from Aug. 2 to Aug. 6 and is designed to celebrate all that is Broadway. Students at all skill levels are welcome to participate. The week will involve daily classes in voice, dance and drama as well as workshops and visits from the Broadway and television communities. Participants also will have the chance to meet with a talent agent.

As reported previously, Stepping Out With Rosie’s Broadway Kids are offering spring workshops as well that run March 29 to April 6.
