2009 Broadway Tony Nominations Announced This Morning

While you may think Broadway is for the older set, take a look at the Tony nominations announced this morning by Cynthia Nixon and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Billy Elliot, The Musical earned 15 nominations, the most of any show of the season. Shrek the Musical received 8 nominations. And, there’s at least one name you’ll likely recognize in the list of best performance by a lead actor in a musical…former American Idol contestant, Constantine Maroulis of Rock of Ages.
