Here are some additional tracks to accompany the reading in the December 2017 issue.
Track 1 is the original Korean language version of “MIC Drop,” the hit song by BTS, 2017’s most popular K-pop group.
Track 2 is a selection from the catalog of Survive, the band who composed the soundtrack to Stranger Things.
Tracks 3-8 are examples of gypsy jazz, which include a handful more compositions by Django Reinhardt than what was included in Hear the Music.
Tracks 9-13 are songs that were featured in vocal competitions or performed by winners of vocal competitions, and include selections from Plácido Domingo’s Operalia World Opera Competition, American Idol, The Voice, and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
Track 14 is a song by experimental composer Laurie Anderson, the subject of this issue’s Who Invented.
