The Smashing Pumpkins (L to R): James Iha (guitar), D’Arcy Wretzky (bass), Billy Corgan (guitar/vocals), Jimmy Chamberlin (drums)

Here’s a lot more music that relates to what we covered in our November 2015 issue. Tracks 1-14 dig deeper into the music of 1995, from Shania Twain to the Smashing Pumpkins and from Tupac to TLC. Tracks 15-19 feature more sounds from Colombia, including the joropo of Grupo Cimarron and the champeta of Colombiafrica. Finally, Track 20 features the Now Playing instrument for November, the crumhorn, as played by members of the Convivium Musicum Gothenburgense. We don’t know the name of this piece’s composer, but it was arranged by Tielman Susato, a 16th-century Dutch composer who founded the first music publishing company in the Netherlands to use movable type. The company’s motto stated that it be could found in the city of Antwerp, “at the sign of the crumhorn.”
