Track 1 is listed for its inclusion on the Carl Sagan Voyager Golden Record, mentioned in this month’s Music Notes. Tracks 2-8 walk us through moments in the history of the music video, as mentioned in “Songs on Screen: The History of Music Videos.” Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” (printed as Track 9 but posted above the main playlist due to compatibility issues) along with Tracks 9-14 are what we feel are good examples of quality songwriting in terms of melody, harmony, and rhythm, selected to accompany “The Art of the Tune.” Lastly, Track 15 has been listed as a bonus to exhibit the subject of this month’s “Now Playing,” the Chapman Stick.
