Here’s some additional music to go along with the content from the October 2016 issue. The track listed here above the playlist is a sampler from London-based multi-instrumentalist and composer Jacob Collier, the subject of this month’s Who’s News. On the playlist, Tracks 1-7 relate back to “The Art of the Lyric”: Each is from one of the artists pictured or mentioned in the feature, with the exception of the track by Dawes. A current radio hit, “When My Time Comes” represents some modern lyricism in the folk genre. Tracks 8-13 represent a range of bachata artists in relation to the feature on bachata. “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas” by Trio Los Panchos, recorded in the late 1940s, speaks for a major influence of the bachata genre: bolero. Last but not least, Track 14 is included as an example of the sounds of the Minimoog Model D, the subject of this month’s Now Playing.
