Conan Gray has swiftly emerged as an indie and "bedroom pop" pop standout attracting fans with his candid lyrics, infectious melodies, and heartfelt storytelling. Born on December 5, 1998, in San Diego, Califomia, Gray spent much of his youth in the small town of Georgetown, Texas. It was there that he first began to explore his musical talents, teaching himself to play the guitar and piano, and honing his skills as a songwriter. Gray's musical journey took a significant turn when he moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, his first choice school. Although initially waitlisted, a well-written and regarded supplemental essay helped secure his acceptance.
